BinaryLibs.Wasm

Purpose

Load and execute general WebAssembly modules through Wasmtime from .NET Standard applications. Modules can be supplied as WebAssembly text (WAT) or binary bytes, with configurable zero-argument exports, fuel limits, host capabilities, command buffering, and linear-memory helpers.

Available API endpoints

  • RuntimeHost: cache and load WAT or binary modules, create isolated runtime instances, and release Wasmtime resources.
  • RuntimeConfiguration: select the zero-argument entry-point export, require additional zero-argument exports, and register capabilities.
  • RuntimeInstance: execute the configured entry point and inspect commands buffered during execution.
  • Capability: define host imports; CommandCapability provides imports that enqueue Command values, while QueryCapability is the base for query-oriented capabilities.
  • Command, CommandBuffer: represent, enqueue, snapshot, and drain host commands with byte payloads.
  • ExecutionLimits: configure Wasmtime fuel and a required maximum linear-memory size for an instance. The default memory limit is the largest size supported by Wasmtime; pass a smaller value to enforce a tighter bound.
  • LoadException: report module loading, export validation, and instantiation failures.
  • Memory: create a caller-scoped helper for reading and writing byte and little-endian 32-bit integer values in the module's exported linear memory.

Agent guidance

Use RuntimeConfiguration when a module does not use the default tick entry point or needs additional exports and imports. Treat RuntimeInstance command buffers as per-instance state, and check the Boolean result from Execute for fuel exhaustion or other execution failures.
