Adliance.AspNetCore.Buddy.GuiKit.Madx
This is a branded version of Adliance.AspNetCore.Buddy.GuiKit for MADX. It bundles the MADX theme, logo, and layout on top of the base GuiKit package, so applications built for MADX get consistent branding without having to assemble the assets themselves.
Setup
Reference the package and add the tag helpers to your _ViewImports.cshtml:
@addTagHelper *, Adliance.AspNetCore.Buddy.GuiKit
Use _MadxCommonLayout.cshtml as the layout for your views:
@{
Layout = "_MadxCommonLayout";
}
The layout references the bundled MADX CSS/JS (min.css/min.js, which already contain GuiKit's) and renders the MADX logo, so no further setup is
required to get the MADX look and feel.
Login pages
Use _MadxLoginLayout.cshtml for the login page. The page's body is the login form, in the right half; the optional
Brand section (eg. the app's logo and a short text) goes into the left half. Both halves' content meets in the
middle of the page, and on small screens they are stacked (MADx logo, brand, form). Without Brand, the form is
centered on its own.
@{
Layout = "_MadxLoginLayout";
}
@section Header
{
<title>My App</title>
}
@section Brand
{
<img src="~/images/logo.png" alt="My App"/>
<p>Curious what My App can do for you? <a href="https://example.com">Learn More →</a></p>
}
<agk-link asp-action="LoginWithMicrosoft" icon="fa-building" text="Login with Microsoft"/>
<form method="post">
<agk-input asp-for="Username" label="Username" autocomplete="username"/>
<agk-password asp-for="Password" label="Password" autocomplete="current-password"/>
<agk-button type="submit" text="Login with username" color="Secondary"/>
</form>
Buttons and links that are direct children of the body or of its form span the form's whole width. The optional
Background section covers the form's half behind the form (eg. <img src="~/images/login.png" alt=""/>, which is
scaled to cover it) - without it, the MADx "X" is shown there. Both halves are --madx-login-width (20rem) wide, and
the form's half has the background --madx-login-background (the MADx night color), which can be overridden in the
agk.theme layer like any other variable.
What's included
- MADX color theme and CSS overrides on top of the base GuiKit styles (in
css/madx.css, which overrides GuiKit's--agk-*variables in theagk.themecascade layer - see the GuiKit README for theming) - MADX logo and brand assets
- Shared Razor layouts (
_MadxCommonLayout, and_MadxLoginLayoutfor login pages) pre-wired with the MADX branding, both based on GuiKit's_AgkLayout

# Changelog
Notable changes to the GuiKit packages (`Adliance.AspNetCore.Buddy.GuiKit`, `.Madx` and `.Infrastructure`, which are
always published together with the same version). Newest first.
## 2026-10-05
- Added `<agk-pagination>`.
- Added `<agk-sidebar>` for a navigation on the left.
- Buttons and pagination links show a spinner while loading.
- Added a `confirm` attribute to delete buttons for an "are you sure" dialog.
## 2026-10-01
- Added `<agk-password>`, an input with a toggle to show the password.
- Buttons support different colors.
- The MADx login layout is responsive.
- **Breaking:** AppInsights and KeyVault extensions moved to the new package `Adliance.AspNetCore.Buddy.GuiKit.Infrastructure`
(referenced by GuiKit, so no new package reference is needed; change `using` directives to `Adliance.AspNetCore.Buddy.GuiKit.Infrastructure[.Extensions]`).
## 2026-09-30
- Restructured the CSS with consistent `--agk-*` variable names and cascade layers.
- Added a common base layout `_AgkLayout`; the MADx layouts are based on it.
- Added `<agk-button>`, `<agk-modal>`, `<agk-chart>`, `<agk-upload>`, `<agk-checkbox>` and `<agk-chat>`.
- Selects support sizes; ratings support `readonly`; chat bubbles have a loading animation.
- Page transitions.
- Support for a strict CSP by default.
- `app.UseGuiKitStaticFiles()` for proper caching of static assets.
- Accessibility improvements and improved form and button styling.
- The MADx package depends on the GuiKit package of the same version (published together).
## 2026-09-23
- Configuration order with Key Vault: appsettings.json, Key Vault, environment variables,
appsettings.{Environment}.json - so environment variables can override Key Vault secrets.
## 2026-09-09
- Added `<agk-rating>`.
- Added `<agk-textarea>`, like `<agk-input>`.
## 2026-08-20

string is configured.
- MADx: fixed text decoration of header links; adjusted margins of the login page.
## 2026-08-10
- MADx: restructured the login layout; it sets `ViewData["Version"]` to the assembly version.
- MADx: styling of ASP.NET validation errors (`.field-validation-error`).
- The text decoration of links is configurable via a CSS variable.
## 2026-08-06
- MADx: moved the logo a little more to the top.
## 2026-08-05
- Added `<agk-select>`.
- Form elements inside a `<fieldset>` are laid out side by side.
- Form controls use `color-scheme: dark` for better native browser controls.
- Fixed missing static web assets in the MADx package.
## 2026-08-04

- Upgraded FontAwesome to 7.3.1; its CSS is no longer bundled into `min.css` (fixes relative font paths).
