Zespy ABR client

Zespy.Abr.Client contains the Refit interfaces and data contracts for the Zespy Australian Business Register public v1 API.

Compatibility

The package contains assets for:

  • .NET Framework 4.6.2 (net462)
  • .NET 8 (net8.0)
  • .NET 10 (net10.0)

This v1-native client is not a drop-in replacement for the legacy 1.16.0 v0 client. Existing applications can remain pinned to 1.16.0 while they use the preserved v0 API. Upgrade deliberately: the current IAbrClient calls /v1 routes and uses the current v1 contracts.

Preserved legacy routes do not imply unchanged outage behavior: the single boolean check now returns HTTP 503 when its required lookup is unavailable, including on the unversioned route. Legacy consumers must handle this as an incomplete check and retain prior verification.

For dependency-injection and authentication helpers, install Zespy.Abr.Client.Extensions at the same version. The default public API base URL is:

Cancellation

Detail, single/bulk checks and search have overloads taking a CancellationToken; the existing signatures remain available. Use the cancellable overloads for request-scoped and scheduled work:

Cancellation reaches the HTTP transport and is not translated into an inactive result. Authentication, timeouts and temporary service errors likewise remain exceptions. Only persist an ABN status after a completed check. Set a bounded HTTP timeout in addition to forwarding the caller token.
