Themis.Inference.WebGpu

Themis.Inference.WebGpu is an optional prototype integration for the native ONNX Runtime WebGPU plugin on Linux x64. It uses the existing ONNX model bundles and typed decision contracts; it does not add browser WebGPU support or alter CPU-only packages. It is published with a -preview NuGet version as a prototype; hardware and licensing validation remain outstanding.

Register the provider alongside AddThemis:

The default configuration requires WebGpuExecutionProvider on a GPU and fails rather than silently using CPU. To permit runtime-default fallback when the plugin registers but no accelerator is available, pass an InferenceRuntimeConfiguration with PreferAccelerator and no RequiredExecutionProviderName. The Vulkan loader remains a runtime prerequisite. When the provider is not named explicitly, its selection policy gives WebGPU higher priority than the CUDA and MIGraphX policies.

The integration uses Microsoft.ML.OnnxRuntime.EP.WebGpu 0.4.0. Its package README declares ONNX Runtime 1.24.4 as the minimum compatible core version; Themis currently uses 1.31.0. The plugin checks compatibility when its library is registered. Publish the consumer with linux-x64 and install a system Vulkan loader (libvulkan.so.1). Although the upstream package contains additional RID assets, this Themis prototype only enables Linux x64.

This integration has not been validated on WebGPU hardware. Package restore, provider registration, or successful inference alone does not establish accelerator support. Confirm the intended provider in ONNX Runtime profiles on the target device before relying on execution or making a hardware/model support claim.
