Net4x.Browser2012Library

Net4x.BrowserLibrary built for machines stuck on Chrome 109 — the last Chrome for Windows 7 / 8 / Server 2012. Same sources, same public API, same assembly name (BrowserLibrary); the difference is a pinned driver and a narrower build.

Use it instead of Net4x.BrowserLibrary, never alongside it: both produce a BrowserLibrary assembly.

Install

dotnet add package Net4x.Browser2012Library
Target framework net8.0-windows
Platform x64
Driver chromedriver 109.0.5414.7400, copied next to the output as chromedriver.exe
Engine Chrome only

The pinned chromedriver.exe sits beside the assembly, so it wins over Selenium Manager — which would otherwise resolve a driver against whatever Chrome is installed.

The package ships build\Net4x.Browser2012Library.props, which copies the driver into the consuming project's output and adds global using directives for OpenQA.Selenium, OpenQA.Selenium.Support.UI and OpenQA.Selenium.Support.Extensions.

Quick start

using BrowserLibrary;

using var utility = BrowserUtility.CreateInstance();
using var session = utility.OpenBrowser("https://example.com", []);

var title = session.Driver.GetInnerTextByXpath("//h1");

Differences from Net4x.BrowserLibrary

Net4x.BrowserLibrary Net4x.Browser2012Library
Frameworks net45 → net8.0-windows net8.0-windows only
Platforms AnyCPU x64
Browsers Chrome, Firefox Chrome 109
chromedriver resolved by Selenium Manager pinned 109.0.5414.7400, shipped

BrowserKind.Firefox still compiles, but no geckodriver is shipped and Firefox is not a supported configuration here.

API

Identical to Net4x.BrowserLibrary — BrowserUtility, IBrowserSession, and the driver extensions (ClickExtension, InnerTextExtension, GetHtmlExtension, ExecuteScriptExtension, …). See that package's README for the full surface.
