Crusaders.API

.NET 4.7.2 WebAPI2 — multi-client REST host. One IIS deployment, multiple client areas.

Structure at a Glance

Each client area lives under lib/<ClientWrap>/ as two projects:

  • *.Services — public NuGet contract (interfaces, models, route annotations). The only thing WPF references.
  • *.Operation — private implementation (controllers, command handlers, EF6 data access). Never shipped.

Database contexts live in _metadata/_<CLIENTWRAP>/ — internal tooling only. The host (Crusaders.API.Net4.Host) wires everything together via MSBuild .targets files.

Security — Shell User / Lazy Registration

For anonymous or fast-enrollment flows (e.g. QR-on-product registration):

  1. A user is created with minimal info — no PersonalDetail yet (Shell User).
  2. The API returns the auto-generated password in the OTP field of UserDetail.

    Warning: this is a temporary credential returned in the response — treat as sensitive.

  3. The consuming client must immediately prompt the user to verify contact, reset the password, and complete their profile to "claim" the account.
